Mathew David Pauley is Regional Ethicist for Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Prior to this role, he served as Medical Bioethics Director for what is now the San Bernardino County Service Area in Northern California. He also serves as faculty in the Washington State University-Kaiser Permanente Medical Ethics Certificate Program, which was created to support ethics education at the institution.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, he had post graduate fellowships at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois (clinical ethics) and Northwestern University School of Medicine (academic bioethics).
In Friday’s presentation Mathew will present on how Hospital ethics remain a somewhat mysterious entity at hospitals, especially for patients and their families. This talk will go over what healthcare ethics is, and how it operates at Kaiser Permanente’s various markets. With lots of time for questions!
Chris Fordyce, MD will also be giving an update on Covid and Flu vaccines to make sure everyone is informed going into flu season.
